No Country for Old Men is a crime thriller film based on Cormac McCarthys novel. Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen the film is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The film (DVD) has a typical 1980 Texas cowboy feel to it and is based on a simple plot - A drug deal going wrong and a innocent bystander who gets interested in the loot. Don't let that put you off though as the films villain is actually its hero and has a very bloody personality.
As the cat and mouse drama unfolds the fate of all people involved builds up a climax. The actors have done their roles very well. Tommy Lee Jones playing the sheriff and Spanish actor Javier Bardem fit into their roles perfectly. The story easily falls together around them.
The climax ends somewhere near the end but the story continues, keeping the viewer pinned to their seat expecting something unexpected to still happen, and just as you think its over a final twist of events. It finally leaves you feeling weird, disturbed, in a way you cannot explain.
Overall a very good movie. Abundant violence, so not necessarily a family movie. Not romantic either. Just a plain movie for a lazy Sunday. Don't miss it.
