Coffee and Cigarettes is one of those totally quirky movies you just have to watch. Shot in back and white, its visually beautiful, I think.
The cast is star studded and their performances are brilliant. Awkward conversations held over chequered tables in a series of short vignettes. Nothing is common between the speakers except that they enjoy coffee and cigarettes. Each conversation is carefully crafted, no hero or villains.
Tesla coils, dentist appointments, musicians, distant cousins--- its all in the bag. Life as it moves forward, one conversation at a time. A movie that will divide opinion. Movie or art? Hate it or love it?
